Welcome to this exceptional season!

With longtime SJWS conductor Ed Harris stepping down in 2023, we are auditioning candidates to become our next Music and Artistic Director. This February 26th we are delighted to welcome our third finalist to the podium: Dr. David Vickerman, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Bands at San José State University.

“Reflections on Love” is inspired by the many ways we express love: from passionate romance to the love from a parent to a child. Bring your loved ones for an afternoon celebrating the most powerful human emotion! Featuring compositions by Gustav Holst, Florence Price, Leonard Bernstein, John Mackey, Arturo Marquez and more!

COVID-19 Restrictions for concert attendees

The San Jose Wind Symphony will be following guidelines regarding COVID-19:

  • Masks providing covering for the nose and mouth are highly recommended for all concertgoers, but are now optional

  • All concertgoers are urged to have the complete set of COVID vaccinations suggested for their age and risk groups

  • If you are exhibiting any COVID-like symptoms or have tested positive for COVID recently, please stay home

Save Time: Order Online

In order to minimize the amount of contact between people, all concert attendees are advised to purchase their tickets in advance, print them out, and bring them to the concert.

A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase at the door, but we strongly recommend buying tickets in advance.

Happy New Year!

As we begin another revolution around the sun, the Wind Symphony is very appreciative of any contribution you give to support our non-profit organization.

Remembering Darrell

SJWS thanks everyone who attended our May 15, 2022 concert, “Remembering Darrell,” celebrating the life and legacy of our founding conductor, Darrell Johnston.

A number of people have asked us if the special program from that concert is available in electronic form. The program features an extensive bio of Maestro Johnston, complete with photos from throughout his long career.

The answer is, “Yes, right here!” Just click or tap on the picture below.
